My Exciting Journey with Methylation: A Game-Changer for Health
Have you ever found yourself following a healthy diet, taking your vitamins, and sticking to your workouts, only to feel like something is still not clicking? You're not alone. I was in that same boat, trying everything I could think of, yet I was left feeling foggy, drained, or just slightly off. I was convinced I was missing a crucial piece of the puzzle.
Then, I discovered a powerful process called methylation, (thank you Gary Brecka and Cherie Hicks) and wow, has it been a revelation! 🌟
🔬 What on Earth is Methylation?
Methylation is a natural process that occurs in our bodies, vital for several critical functions. It’s responsible for switching your genes on and off, creating energy, balancing mood, detoxifying, and repairing cells. This intricate process is tirelessly working behind the scenes, 24/7, to keep everything in balance.
It’s helpful to visualize it like this:
Your Body = A Car. Methylation = The Fuel Refinery. 🚗
Just like a car needs refined fuel to run smoothly, our bodies need methylated or refined nutrients too.
Think of it this way:
Nutrients like folate, B12, and amino acids are the crude oil, while methylation is the refinery that converts them into usable energy for our cells. When methylation is in check, the difference is like night and day! I feel energized, focused, and my mood is on fleek!. 😃
🌍 The Earthly Connection: Grounding & Methylation
Here's where it gets even more fascinating and so simple to do. Recent studies suggest that connecting with the Earth, by simply walking barefoot on the grass, sand, or soil—a practice known as grounding—can create a more conducive environment for methylation to happen in the body. It’s like Mother Nature’s way of saying, "I've got your back."
With grounding, my body absorbs electrons from the Earth, which helps neutralize inflammation and oxidative stress—two culprits notorious for disrupting methylation. Grounding is a simple practice that takes at best 10 minutes.
Hint: I do this most mornings upon arising, right in my front yard, in my pajamas and everything. The big bonus is that first light in your eyes also helps your body recognize that its time to wake up and you create and feel energized without having to grab for caffeine. And no my neighbors do not think I’m weird!
So, to review. Grounding for 10 minutes impacts your body’s ability to refine nutrients better for your cells, and also helps you get:
💤 Better sleep and melatonin balance
📉 Healthier cortisol rhythms
🧠 A calmer nervous system
Integrating these practices into my life has been a game changer, a blessing, and something I can do as I balance my work and children. (I’m the first person to not do complicated!) If you’re looking to elevate your health, methylation could very well be your ticket to a vibrant life!
In short:
Touch the Earth → Calm your body → Support your cells → Feel better overall. 🧡
